Andy Sistek is the Head Girls Wrestling Coach at Seward High School, which will co-op with Milford High and Centennial High for a combined team. Sistek was an All-American with over 100 wins at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a two-time Nebraska state champion while attending Ralston High School. |

Seward Rotary Club is again hosting Family Day at the Museum, sponsoring free admission for families to the Seward County Historical Society Museum in Goehner, including the entire grounds and the children's train, which will be running. Cake and ice cream will be provided to attendees until it's gone. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 11th. |

The Imagine Rotary Tour is coming and everyone is invited!
York and the York Rotary Club, our parent club, was selected as one of the communities that will be visited by District 5650 Governor Barbara Bartle and District 5630 Governor Deb McCaslin. On Wednesday, October 5, there will be a York Rotary Club luncheon and a Major Micro Project that will take place at York Country Club (doors will open at 11:30 AM). Immediately following lunch, there will be a York Community Tour. At approximately 4 PM, there will be a social hour at York County Club followed by dinner, in groups, around York at various locations.

From roadside historical markers to the Chimney Rock Visitor Center, the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation raises support "in order to advance the study and preservation of history; and to aid and benefit the Nebraska State Historical Society or other entities interested or engaged in the collection or preservation of historical property or in the study of history." Maj. Gen. Roger Lempke (Ret.), Executive Vice President, will talk about the Foundation's work, past, present, and future, to assure that Nebraska’s history will be accessible to future generations. |

Telling Nebraska's Stories

Today's program will feature one of Nebraska most-recognized historians sharing some stories about the state we all call home. Jim McKee is the author of over 1,500 articles and books on Nebraska history, which his family has called home since his great-grandparents pioneered in Lancaster County, ca.1870. Jim is a Lincoln Northeast and University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate and married to Linda L. Hillegass. He has been a local history adjunct professor (Lincoln History, copyright law, publishing) at Southeast Community College since 1970, writes a weekly column for the Lincoln Journal-Star, is a member and officer in local and national historical, professional, and civic organizations, and presents about 50 talks a year to church, civic, professional and historical groups. |

Investing in Seward, Investing in Nebraska

There will be an unprecedented transfer of wealth in Nebraska over the next few decades. What can our community, and our Club, do to ensure that some of that wealth stays here in Seward County and supports the causes we care about, including Rotary? Dawn Navis of the Legacy Fund of Seward County and Kevin Warneke of the Nebraska Community Foundation will share insights on what is happening and the opportunities that exist during this program. Water Safety

The number one cause of accidental death for children 1 to 4 years of age is drowning. From their own personal tragedy, Blake and Kathy Collingsworth established the Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation to raise awareness of water safety in Nebraska, across the nation, and around the world and, thanks to their partnership with Rotary clubs, are achieving that goal. We'll learn more about this important safety issue and how Rotarians have made a difference in this presentation. |

The Annual Seward Rotary Club’s Children’s Halloween Costume Contest will be held on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 at the Seward Bandshell. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and is open to all children through age 12. The event is free and open to the public. First, Second and Third Place Awards will be given in each age group. There will be an overall Grand Prize awarded as well. All participating children will receive a complimentary bag of candy regardless of finish. In the case of inclement weather, the contest will be held in the Seward Civic Center Auditorium. |

It Takes Team: TeamMates Mentoring

DeMoine Adams was named TeamMates Mentoring Chief Executive Officer in September, 2021. No stranger to the TeamMates Program, Adams previously served TeamMates as Post-Secondary Education Coordinator and as Program Director. Before returning to TeamMates, he served as Director of Development for the University of Nebraska Foundation for the College of Business. “Nothing means more to me and our team than sustaining their legacy. More than 43,0000 youth have benefitted from having a caring relationship through a TeamMates match, because of Nancy and Tom’s vision more than 30 years ago.” Join us for this program to learn more about the fulfillment of that vision from Adams. |

Concordia's Ag Science Program

Concordia University launched its Agricultural Science major in fall 2019 and Prof. Kim Clark joined the program as its second faculty member in fall 2021. During this week's program, Prof. Clark and some students will share highlights from this fall and update us on the program now in its fourth year. |
