Seward Bandshell
A beloved community asset, the Seward Bandshell was dedicated in 1930 and seats approximately 200. A focal point of Seward's 4th of July festivities, the Bandshell has been the home of the Seward Municipal Band since August 11, 1934. This is only fitting, as the Bandshell was built on land donated to the City by J.C. Thomas, who was a founder of Seward's first municipal band in the 1870s.
The Canopy Project
While the Bandshell is heavily used during specific summer events, it is underutilized much of the spring and fall. To increase use, the addition of shade canopies over the audience would provide a more comfortable environment from the elements. Consisting of permanent poles and durable, removable fabrics, the canopy will be designed to stand up to Nebraska's changing weather.
Invitation to Support
Seward Rotary Club is seeking to raise $100,000 to make the canopy project a reality. Every dollar contributed will be matched by generous Seward residents, up to $50,000. When fully funded, this fundraising effort will cover the costs of the materials, shipping, and installation. Seward Rotary is partnering with Seward County Bridges for this effort, which will allow donor gifts the opportunity to be tax deductible depending on the donor's tax situation.
Whether $10, $100, or $1,000, every gift will help improve this cherished community asset. Thank you for your interest in partnering with Seward Rotary.
