The annual “Souper” Bowl Food Drive the week end of the national Super Bowl was held on Saturday, Feb. 3 in Seward and coordinated by the Seward Rotary. The Rotarians and their families collected food and especially soup for the local Blue Valley Community pantry.

Local businesses that allowed the Rotarians to collect food were the Seward Walmart and Seward Pac and Save.  The Rotarians collected donated food from the various shoppers at those stores.

A pickup load of canned goods and over $200 in cash was collected for the Blue Valley Community Action program.

The food was collected and delivered to the local pantry by the members of the Seward Rotary.  One of the international service organization’s pillars of service is to assist and aid the homeless and those in poverty locally and worldwide.  The motto for Rotary is “Service Above Self!”
