Seward Rotary Club recently recognized Rotarian John Riggle for his long-time membership and exemplifying "Service Above Self"
At the September 7, 2022 meeting of Seward Rotary Club, the membership awarded the highest honor in Rotary International — The Paul Harris Fellow — to Seward Rotarian John Riggle.  He was presented the award at the club meeting by Jon Kruse, Co-Chair of the Club’s Foundation Committee.

“It is indeed an honor to recognize and thank John for his longtime loyalty to Seward, Seward Rotary and Rotary International.  He has faithfully served on numerous committees and participated on a host of activities over the years. We can always count on John to help-which is wonderful in an all-volunteer organization,” said Kruse.  “I think John’s real contribution is his service as a member of the Seward Rotary Club’s Foundation Committee for so many years! He gets it-the value of the Rotary Foundation and the Foundation’s impact worldwide.  It is time we formally thanked John for his service.”

Riggle joined Rotary on June 1, 2003 after he started working at Jones Bank in Seward.  He worked in the bank's IT Department until his retirement in August 2013.  Although Riggle and Pat, his wife, now live in Lincoln, he continues to be an active member in Seward Rotary, driving west for the weekly meetings.

“Today we salute and honor John Riggle for living the Rotary motto-“Service Above Self!” Club President Zane Francescato said.  "A strong membership is key to a successful Rotary Club and John Riggle is a strong member for our club and is most deserving of this honor. Thank you John.”

$1,000 was donated to The Rotary Foundation in honor of Riggle by the Club.
