Seward Rotary Club has pledged its support for the proposed Seward Wellness Center project
The Seward Rotary Club Board of Directors and the Rotary Club General Membership recently voted to pledge and donate $5000 to the proposed new Seward Wellness Center at their weekly Rotary Club meeting.

Many of the local Rotarians and their families have made additional pledges to the Wellness Center project, as did their places of work, but the membership felt that the Rotary Club needed to also show support, and assist with a donation.  “We are a relatively smaller Rotary Club,” commented Matt Dominy-Seward Rotary Club President.  “While a $5000 donation is quite a bit of money for our club, it is important that we at least offer some funds to support this wonderful community project.”

“Our Rotary Club donation is just one of many, many donations and pledges made for the $18 million dollar project,” stated Zane Francescato-Rotary President Elect.  “This is a total community effort and we feel we, as a Rotary Club, need to make a statement and donate to this outstanding proposal for Seward, with our funds.”

“The $18 million will be generated from pledges and donations amounting to one third of the cost, one third from a proposed half cent sales tax increase for the City of Seward and one third from major project grants from the State of Nebraska,” said Rotarian Jessica Kolterman.  “This will be a major, positive addition to the community of Seward and the Seweard Wellness Center will be realized because so many are working together to make it happen.”

“Our Rotary Club is already planning several fund raising projects to help us achieve our pledge,” commented Rotary President – Dr. Matt Dominy.  “The benefits that will be realized for all ages in Seward and the Greater Seward area and make it a real priority for our community. The new Center will work with children, senior citizens, youth, adults of all ages in a variety of structured and unstructured programs, all coordinated by the City of Seward.  It is a real partnership with the School District of Seward, City of Seward and Citizens of Seward and a win-win-win!”
