18 Apr 2021 J. Don Miller Memorial Kite Flying Contest Apr 18, 2021 2:00 PM Seward Rotary Club will host its annual J. Don Miller Memorial Kite Flying Contest on Sunday, April 18^th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Seward Soccer Fields in Plum Creek Park. This is an Seward Rotary Club event that is open to everyone and families in the community are encouraged to attend. The late J. Don Miller was a longtime member of Seward Rotary Club and promoted the kite flying contest, even hosting workshops on “how to make a homemade kite” for the children of the community. The contest, which is to honor his memory, is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend and awards will be presented at the event's conclusion for a variety of categories, including first kite up in the air, biggest kite, and most unusual kite. 22 May 2021 Seward Service Celebration May 22, 2021 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM Seward Rotary Club will hold its 2021 Seward Service Celebration at the Seward County Ag Pavilion on Saturday, May 22, 2021. This year's celebration will honor Gail Brand as the Service Above Self Award winner and Marla Jisa as the Wayne Tanderup Award winner. A special salute to Hughes Brothers, Inc., celebrating 100 years in business, will also occur. The featured speaker is Jim Rose and dinner will be catered by Kerry's of McCook Junction. The event, which features both a live and silent auction, raises funds for a variety of local and international Rotary projects.
