Beautiful Nebraska

Every fourth grader in the state knows these lyrics – "Beautiful Nebraska, peaceful prairieland, laced with many rivers, and the hills of sand, dark green valleys cradled in the earth, rain and sunshine bring abundant birth." The vision of Keep Nebraska Beautiful is a state "where every community is a clean, green, beautiful place to live." So what does this look like? How is Keep Nebraska Beautiful pursuing its vision across the Good Life? Jane Polson, President, will join Seward Rotary at noon to talk about the organization's efforts and provide some thoughts on how Seward, and Nebraska, can remain beautiful. |

Rotary District 5650 Governor's Visit

Julie O'Hara, a member and former president of Shenandoah (IA) Rotary Club, began her service as District Governor for District 5650 in July. Her visit to Seward Rotary Club will be on September 5, 2018, where she'll share her priorities for the District's clubs this year and tell us more about the 2018-19 Rotary International Theme, "Be The Inspiration." Please join us in welcoming Governor O'Hara and learning more about the ways our club is connected on a regional, national, and international basis to others who put "Service Above Self." |

Basic Combat Training

This past summer, two of Seward's own - Cayden Gland and Jax Johnson - enlisted in the National Guard and went through the 10 week Basic Combat Training course. They will discuss their experience, why they decided to join the National Guard, and what lies ahead for them in this journey. Rowling This program will be presented by Concordia University Prof. Kathy Miller and several of her students from their class project, "The Family," where students interviewed local Seward residents about their stories, families, and history. They will share with us what they learned about those they interviewed, our community, and themselves as a result of this unique project all about making connections. The public is welcome to join us for this special presentation. |
